The CBD tea, its effects and its preparation

The benefits of CBD (cannabidiol) on the body are increasingly recognized. Also, the consumption of this molecule becomes more and more heterogeneous. Indeed, early CBD cannabis users initially smoked or vaporized their CBD buds as they would have done with conventional weed. But, today the methods of consumption and the types of products containing CBD have diversified and meet the so-called “therapeutic” and gustatory demands of this product (organic or not). Therefore, there are different ways to ingest cannabidiol: vaporization, combustion, inhalation, skin application, infusion, etc. One of them is particularly appreciated by the lovers of absolute relaxation: the CBD hemp flower and leaf tea!

The CBD herbal tea effect

The medical benefits of CBD are still being studied. However, this molecule has undeniably many virtues:

  • Relaxing effect: reduction of stress and anxiety
  • Analgesic effect: reduction of joint, muscle and bone pain
  • Facilitates digestion: CBD acts on the endocannabinoid receptors of the digestive system (among others) of our body.
  • Anti-inflammatory properties: CBD acts on the endocannabinoid receptors of the human body. Thus, it allows to relieve inflammations, particularly important in some chronic diseases (multiple sclerosis, arthritis, etc.).

Infusion is, by definition, a method of extracting active ingredients. In the case of CBD cannabis, it is the cannabinoids (especially CBD) and terpenes (aromas) of the plant’s flowers. This dissolution is done in an initially boiling liquid which is then left to cool.

Drink an herbal tea (lemon verbena, apple, orange, mint, thyme, organic, …), allows :

  • good hydration
  • a feeling of warmth
  • better digestion
  • a drainage of toxins from the body

In addition to the natural benefits of an herbal tea, a hemp infusion allows :

  • to benefit from the natural virtues of the cannabinoids (CBD) present in legal cannabis
  • enjoy the unique flavors of the infused flower variety.

Overall, an infusion of hemp CBD will have a slower effect than vaporizing it (in flower form) or taking it sublingually (in oil form). However, the experience will be rich and the properties long-lasting and significant, especially on the digestive system and relaxation.

With the infusions, it will generally take a few hours to feel the first effects of CBD.

CBD tea: instructions for use

To prepare a CBD infusion, 3 types of ingredients are essential:

  • the material to infuse: CBD flowers

    CBD oil

    or CBD resin
  • the liquid extractor: boiling water
  • Catalyst for absorption of fat-soluble CBD: fat (vegetable oil, butter, whole milk)

The steps to prepare an herbal tea of CBD flowers are the same as for the classic infusions (lemon verbena, chamomile, orange, apple, organic, …):

  • quantity: Count 0,5 grams of flowers of CBD for 250ml of boiling water. Some CBD infusions are in prepared bags. In this case, count one sachet per cup.
  • duration: Leave to infuse for about 10 minutes with a fatty substance (cloud of milk, a spoonful of butter, etc., according to your convenience). This addition facilitates the extraction and assimilation of cannabinoids (CBD) which are only soluble in fat.
  • good relaxation!

To optimize the taste and exacerbate the benefits of this infusion, it is quite possible to add a spoon of honey to the CBD tea or a small candy!

CBD tea and sleep

To undertake to make a CBD tea, or a CBD infusion at a moment “t”, is to choose to offer a true moment of relaxation, to allow its body to rest, to relax, or to indicate him a soft alarm clock. Indeed, if the classic herbal teas (mint, lemon verbena, orange, organic, sage, etc. …) have a naturally positive effect (digestion, relaxation, …) and lasting on the body, the CBD infusions are real partners against stress, anxiety and insomnia

The body assimilates CBD only after digestion. Therefore, thehe relaxing effects of a CBD herbal tea will settle in slowly over time.

Our body has its own cannabinoid system located both in the brain and in the rest of the body. It has CB1 and CB2 receptors specific to these endocannabinoids (anandamide and 2 arachidonylglycerol). Cannabinoids in cannabis have more or less affinity for these receptors. It results in more or less important responses according to the absorbed concentrations and the natural effect of the active substance concerned (THC or CBD essentially). CBD has no affinity for CB1 and CB2 receptors, but it does influence the enzyme (FAAH) responsible for regulating anandamide (commonly known as the “happy hormone”). This results in a high production of FAAH which inexorably leads to a relaxation of the body and mind.

A person with sleep problems due to stress or moderate pain, but enough to prevent them from falling asleep or waking them up in the middle of the night, will be able to get the relaxing benefits of CBD by feeling a deep calm and will then be able to fall asleep more easily and take advantage of the long-lasting effects of CBD throughout the night.

In order to benefit from the soothing virtues, it is necessary to anticipate the ingestion:

  • In the evening: after the meal to facilitate sleep and digestion. Let its properties act during the night.
  • In the morning: at breakfast to anticipate the stress of the day.

In winter, the comforting warmth of CBD tea is particularly appreciated.

CBD tea: Legal?

Unlike the famous, but stigmatized and illegal cannabinoid, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is not on the list of substances classified as narcotics in the decree of February 22, 1990 (1). To be legal, the hemp flowers found on the CBD market (like those of the Bistrot CBD) must meet the strict legislation imposed in France on this subject. In particular, they must have a THC (psychotropic substance) content of less than 0.2%. As far as CBD is concerned, this molecule is not classified as illegal. The rates vary from one product to another. They are differentiated according to the type (oil, flowers, seeds, resins, balsam, …), quality (organic or boosted), varieties of hemp, etc.

Opinions on CBD hemp tea

The opinions concerning an infusion of
CBD flowers
are as diverse as the number of consumers. Indeed, the taste and expectation (pains, flavors) of some are different from those of others. Some will prefer to use a vaporizer to feel the high rise quickly (without reaching a “stoned” state since the product contains little or no THC) while others will enjoy the effects gradually felt after drinking their infusion.

Hemp-based herbal teas are a gentle and long-lasting method of ingestion. They bring in a state of deep relaxation, typical of the classic infusions (mint, orange, lemon verbena, in organic sachet, in bulk, …) but optimized by the presence of CBD, other cannabinoids (

CBDa

CBN, CBG, CBC, …) and terpenes (flavor among others).

The majority of reviews about CBD hemp flower infusions are positive. However, before any purchase, it is always relevant to look at the quality / price ratio of the varieties of flowers offered (price per gram, outdoor quality, indoor or green house, flowers or leaves, CBD rate, flavor …). Don’t throw yourself at a tempting promo code either. The product may not meet the primary needs of an infusion. We do not infuse the

e-liquid with CBD

!!!

As a reminder, an infusion of plants allows to keep intact all the molecules contained in the concerned parts (leaves, flowers, seeds…). The flavor of hemp is highly sought after by cannabis consumers in general. The ultra conservative quality specific to herbal teas then largely counterbalances the effects of CBD, sometimes lessened by digestion.

CBD is, by its actions on the body, comparable to an opportunistic food supplement. Indeed, its daily ingestion would reinforce the defenses of the immune system, thus relieving the inflammatory, muscular, articular and chronic pains. It would also reduce stress and anxiety.

Do not expect to reach psychotropic or “stoned” effects with a product chosen among the famous varieties offered by the Bistrot CBD. On the other hand, let yourself be tempted by an herbal tea of our CBD hemp flowers. A pure moment of relaxation and an intense gustatory experience in perspective.
